Start date & time: Feb 4th @ 7:00PM (Doors @ 6:30PM)
Prepare for an intimate evening of exceptional roots and folk music, celebrating deep storytelling and multi-instrumental artistry. This performance weaves together classic songwriting with modern, unique arrangements, crossing borders of genre and tradition. Expect haunting harmonies and complex textures driven by seasoned pioneers, including a BC Hall of Fame Pioneer Artist. It’s a night where powerful, honest roots music meets the intricate soundscape of contemporary indie-folk.
Linda McRae, a BC Hall of Fame Pioneer Artist, is a former member of Canada’s Spirit Of The West. As a solo artist she has released 7 critically-acclaimed albums. Her musicianship on guitar, banjo and accordion distinguish her as one of the true, soulful pioneers of honest roots music. She is an experienced instructor and has presented workshops at festivals, music camps and correctional and recovery facilities. Northern Line came together in 2023 when Linda McRae had the unique opportunity to perform with Mark Thibeault, Scott Atchison, and Richard Jenne while instructors at the Smithers Adult Guitar Camp. They decided to team up and take the world by storm.

Aleksi Campagne is uniquely qualified to offer a contemporary, indie-folk take on the time-honoured fiddle-singing tradition. Aleksi grew up on stage. At five years old he began performing alongside his mother, Canadian folk icon Connie Kaldor. At nineteen, Aleksi moved to Paris to study under Jazz-violin legend Didier Lockwood. At twenty-one, Aleksi became the only student to have ever been accepted into the classical violin, the jazz violin and the jazz voice performance programs at McGill University. By twenty-five, with only a six-song EP, Aleksi graced the lineups of some of the most competitive folk festivals across Canada for three consecutive years including the Regina, Canmore, and Bear Creek Folk Festivals.
