Patriots, The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested by the Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation to Escort this year’s Wounded Warriors " Purple Heart Recipients " to their Waterfowl Hunting Trip.
Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation (WWIA) is a national 501(c)(3) public charity that devotes all of its energy and resources to supporting the men and women wounded in combat who were awarded the Purple Heart Medal. WWIA supports these phenomenal Heroes by providing them with the opportunity to participate in world-class outdoor sporting activities at no cost to them. They do this as a means to recognize and honor their sacrifice, encourage independence and connections with communities, and promote healing and wellness through camaraderie and a shared passion for the outdoors.
The arriving Warriors will be escorted from the Norfolk Va. airport by the VAPGR. We will stage and await the arrival of the escort from the Norfolk Airport at Currituck Outer Banks Visitor’s Center 106 Caratoke Hwy Moyock, NC 27958. Upon their arrival we will stand the flag line welcoming them to North Carolina. Once they are ready to depart, we will mount up and escort them to the Water Park in Powells Point N.C. 27966.
