Anne Sullivan began her career as a concert harpist at age twelve when she appeared twice as soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra. A native of the Philadelphia area and a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, she is in demand as a recitalist, chamber musician and symphonic soloist. Her orchestral appearances have included engagements with the Baltimore Symphony, the Delaware Symphony where she was principal harpist, the Pennsylvania Chamber Orchestra, and the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia.
As a collaborative musician, she performs regularly with the SPARX duo with flutist Joan Sparks and with the chamber music ensemble 1807 & Friends. In addition to her chamber music recordings, she has released two solo CDs, Romantische (2007) and Break Forth (2011).
Ms. Sullivan was a member of the music theory faculty at the Curtis Institute of Music from 1982-2001. She is the author and arranger of numerous works for harp solo and harp ensemble, and has published several practice resources for musicians including the Spark Practice Journal and an e-book, Kaleidoscope Practice: Focus, Finish and Play the Way You’ve Always Wanted, available on Amazon Kindle.
Ms. Sullivan's sheet music, recordings and practice resources are available at the Harp Mastery® online shop. You can email Anne directly at [email protected]
In 2012, Ms. Sullivan founded Harp Mastery®, an online resource which now serves a worldwide community of harpists. Her creative approaches to teaching harp students of all ages focus on helping harpists achieve harp happiness, which she defines as “playing the music you want the way you want.” Through her blogs, a podcast, online courses, challenges, live events, and proprietary coaching process, Harp Mastery® continues to empower every harpist to find fulfillment and joy in their harp playing.
