A Service of Word based on Luke 1:39-45 and Micah 5:2-5 In many houses, we’ve entered into that final rush before Christmas: making sure the meal is ready, performing the last-minute mad-dash to the mall, and, of course, wrapping all the presents. But just as we wrap our presents to hide them from their recipients, we often wrap ourselves and hide from others. The love that the Christ-child brings us liberates us from this need to hide. How was Mary, the mother of Jesus, liberated so many centuries ago? And how does Jesus liberate us today?
