Worry Free Plants for Busy People

Saturday, June 17, 2023

9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Instructor: Robert Bowden

Summer plants are a fantastic choice for a new gardener or for someone with a new garden. You can be creative, and can have instant color that lasts throughout our hot summer. There are many selections to choose from - you can grow plants that are climbers, bedding plants that are grown for their foliage and plants for the shade. This class fills up fast so be sure to sign up early – seating is limited.

Robert Bowden recently retired as Executive Director of Leu Gardens after nearly three decades. Earlier in his career he was the Executive Director of the Atlanta Botanical Garden, Director of Horticulture of the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis, and Assistant Director of Old Westbury Gardens on Long Island. He is the author of many books including Florida Fruit & Vegetable Gardening: Plant, Grow, and Harvest the Best Edibles and the Florida Top Ten Garden Guide. He also teaches several horticulture classes in the Science Department at Valencia State College.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available to FNGLA Certified Professionals upon request.

Participants must withdraw from classes at least five days prior to the start of class in order to receive a full refund or credit. If we must cancel a class, we will make every effort to inform you prior to the class time, and you will receive a full refund or credit. Only those registered for the class will be permitted in the classroom. Childcare services are not provided.
