Join us in the beautiful Martha Walker Native Habitat Garden at Skyline Wilderness Park
for a Worm and Backyard Composting Workshop!
The class will be on Saturday, September 6th from 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM.
Learn to reduce and eliminate yard trimmings and turn it into wonderfully rich compost for your garden. Discover the basics of backyard composting, composting with worms and grass cycling. Become familiar with tools, types of bins and the ins and outs of recycling yard trimmings, garden waste, and even some food scraps. In this workshop you can choose to learn about either worm or backyard composting - choose your own adventure! For those taking the backyard composting portion, after concluding the workshop you may purchase a discounted compost bin for $20.00 (One bin per household). Worm class attendees will receive a free worm compost tool kit, including the worms that you will set up with the UC Master Gardeners to take home! Workshop attendees may choose to either purchase a discounted backyard compost bin for $20 or take home a worm compost toolkit, including the worms, for free.
Pre-registration is required, and space is limited, so please RSVP to reserve your spot and note which bin you are interested in. There will be no Park entrance fee to attend the workshop. Please follow signs after stopping to speak with the gate attendant and park by the building.
Classes are brought to you by The Master Gardeners of Napa County, in partnership with The City of Napa's Recycling Division, Napa County, and Upper Valley Waste Management.
