A Read to Succeed Event! Celebrating Black History, The Greensboro Sit-In, and World Read Aloud Day with culturally relevant literature!About this Event
Help us celebrate the 1st day of Black History Month, World Read Aloud Day, and the anniversary of the Greensboro Sit-In at Hickory Grove Library. We will distribute the book "SIt-In: How Four Friends Stood by Sitting Down" and “Freedom on the Menu”.
We are hosting this event in partnership with Charlotte Mecklenburg Libraries. The guest reader is Octavius Rice and the story will be followed with literacy games and activities related to the book.
