We all know the joy of opening a container—whether that be a mailbox or a geocache—and discovering something unexpected hidden inside. What’s even better is getting the chance to meet people from around the world that share the same excitement. Both postcards and geocaches connect us to our community and make the world that we explore feel just a little bit closer.
Did you know that there’s an official day to celebrate postcards? October 1 is World Postcard Day! This day began in 2019 to mark the 150th anniversary of the postcard. Every year, postcard enthusiasts meet up to celebrate the occasion, even making special postcards and stamps!
World Postcard Day 2025 is coming up and Geocaching HQ is excited to announce a new souvenir to mark the occasion! Celebrate with us by posting an Attended log on any Event from September 28 to October 4, 2025.
