World Music Series - February Concert

Ginga Quartet is an instrumental version of the larger Boulder-based group, Ginga, which specializes in vocal Brazilian music. Ginga Quartet dances in the worlds of Brazilian Jazz, Chorinho, Baião, Frevo, Bossa Nova, and Forro, styles of music from all over Brazil. It is lively, enchanting, and engaging music that often compels listeners to get up and move their body to the rhythms and melodies steeped in history and influence from Africa, Europe, and the Native peoples of Brazil.

Each of the members of Ginga Quartet has spent a lifetime performing and recording jazz, funk, pop, classical, and world music, but they are brought together through their strong passion for the music of Brazil.
