NOTE: EARLIER START TIME OF 08.30World Migratory Bird Day is officially celebrated in May when the migrating birds journey to their nesting sites and also in October as they return to their over-wintering areas.
To recognise the long journey these birds are undertaking we will take a stroll around the South West corner of Jersey . Both Portelet and Noirmont Point are areas of significant importance to migratory birds.
The coastal aspect provides a much needed feeding station and launch pad for their onward journey to warmer climes.
Thank you to Romano da Costa for this super image of a migrating Whinchat which has stopped to feed at a conservation field.
