About this Event
Native wildflowers support a rich array of life: soil and other microorganisms, insects, us and of course-birds! Participants can observe migratory birds as well as some rare-for-the-area avian residents in this managed native meadow landscape where aesthetics are just one of many components that guide the design and maintenance. Bird watching is a self-guided activity though we have some guides to borrow on site. Bird watchers can also join us for a guided wildflower and ecology walk at 2:30 to learn how plant and management choices affect local ecology and create bird habitat. (The walk is part of NYC Wildflower Week!)Build skills in making observations in natural spaces.
