The 4th annual World Amateur Pork Pie Championship this year is being held on Saturday 23 August 2025. This is bank holiday weekend and coincides with the main annual beer festival held at The Grainstore. it is open to all amateur pork pie makers, and is a charity fund raiser for East Midlands Immediate Care Scheme (EMICS). for those of you who haven't heard of EMICS, take a look at their website. it is a fantastic charity that sends volunteer drs to medical emergencies at the request of the ambulance service in the east midlands. The drs provide their services for nothing, but obviously their vast amount of equipment needs funding. So far directly and indirectly the Rutland Pork Pie Appreciation Society has raised nearly £55k for EMICS, as a result of various events and donors who have contributed as a result of the events.emics.org.uk
