A collaborative community event from the AIDS Service Foundation of Greater Kansas City, Calvary Community Outreach Network, Gilead Sciences, and KC CARE Health Center.
Breakfast will be provided at 8 a.m. with the program kicking off at 8:30 a.m.
Our theme for 2024 is to Commit to Our Community, a call to action about how we can each make a difference in the efforts to create a future with no new HIV transmissions. Breakout discussions will include:
- Faith and HIV: a discussion led by Dr. Frank Thompson, former director of the Kansas City, MO Department of Health.
- Looking at DoxyPEP: a conversation about the post-exposure drug, led by Jeremy Beshears (Gilead Sciences) and Wes Warner (KC CARE Health Center).
- Long-term survivors living with HIV: a comprehensive look at the unique needs of long-term survivors of HIV, moderated by ASFKC Board Member Kelly Kent.
- How to talk about HIV: normalizing discussions about our HIV status, facilitated by Dr. Leslie Fields.
