We are excited to welcome guest instructor Gunner Field to our facility for three amazing workshops the weekend of July 27th. About Gunner
Gunnar Field is an acrobatics contortion and hand-balancing coach based in Minneapolis, MN USA, Gunnar has been in the world of movement performance since his youth, he started with gymnastics at age 5 and moved into the world of circus in high school. Gunnar began training aerial and contortion in Minneapolis, having a natural inclination towards flexibility and a background of gymnastics he fell in love with the art immediately. He went on to study contortion in Ulaanbaatar Mongolia as well as China at the Beijing International School of Acrobatics and Arts focusing on handbalancing. He has performed around the USA, Thailand & China. Using his 30 years of accumulated knowledge of body movement and mechanics he has taken a somewhat different approach to teaching the art of acrobatics.
Hand-Balancing Workshop
Saturday, July 27th, 2:30pm - 4:00pm
The emphasis in this workshop will be on core stability, shoulder mobility, and handstand transitions. Students will learn important techniques that will contribute to a handstand practice that is safe, productive, and fun.
Prerequisites: Comfortable being upside down, ability to kick up to handstand on the wall, and at least 16 years of age.

Splits, Splits, and More Splits
Saturday, July 27th, 4:30pm - 6:00pm
This workshop will help students get deeper into their hips, hamstrings, quads, and adductors safely. There will be an emphasis on engagement and elongation of the limbs and muscles to help strengthen and improve split lines.
Prerequisites: Forward pike touching toes or further, no existing injuries that would impact stretching your legs, and at least 16 years of age.

Intro to Contortion
Sunday, July 28th, 2:30pm - 4:30pm
This workshop will focus on warm-up techniques, shoulders and back openers for chest-stands/forearm stands/handstands as well as cover split drills and breath control drills.
Prerequisites: Able to bend forward and touch the floor with straight legs, a bridge with straight arms and chest to the wall, splits or close to flat splits, able to pull foot to head in back arch (pigeon pose or cobra), and must be 16 years of age.
