St. George’s Episcopal Church will host acclaimed writer, professor, and Episcopal priest, the Rev. Dr. Lauren Winner March 7 – 9 for a Lenten Weekend Program. The weekend is entitled, “Accounting for Hope” and explores ways we can share our own stories of hope in the midst of facing challenges. All faiths, traditions, and walks of life are invited to listen and share personal stories.Lenten Weekend is an annual event at St. George’s at the beginning of Lent, the forty-day season of spiritual renewal preceding Easter. The weekend of programming considers writing personal stories as a way of accounting for the hope within us, which is part of how we share our faith with one another.
The Rev. Dr. Lauren Winner is an acclaimed writer, professor, and Episcopal priest. Her books include Girl Meets God, Mudhouse Sabbath, Still, and Wearing God. She is practiced in guiding a variety of people, from incarcerated women to divinity school students, to professional authors, in the art of writing their stories.
