In these 2.5 hour workshops suitable for teachers, long term practitioners & those new to yoga, Lucy will lead you through several poses that require us to understand where to focus & where to feel.Spinal extension is the opposite of forward bending; it is when we lengthen the spine upward & backward, this allows the front of the body to lengthen & stretch, whilst the back-body gets stronger. The back muscles are essential to lifting & bending activities, these muscles act both to lengthen the spine upwards & backwards & to balance its forwardbending activities or flexion.
Spinal extension is the antidote to our forward facing lifestyles. When practiced gently & safely these poses are the missing link, they enliven & brighten our inner environment, perk us up & allow our ribs to move & so enhance our breathing
