About this Event
Artist and educator, Khaulah Naima Nuruddin will guide participants through an art making workshop that addresses the themes presented in her solo exhibition, This is. The End. Using gouache on photo paper, participants will activate creative reactions between materials to make fun, surprising images. They will explore how shape, color, and intention can suggest and inspire mood or movement. This workshop is free with RSVP and takes place amongst the exhibition.
Khaulah Naima Nuruddin is a multimedia artist from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, who lives and works in South Florida. Nuruddin’s work explores the intersections of personal expression and social commentary by initiating public discussion of race, sexuality and the social transfer inherent to her work as a Black, lesbian artist. She is dedicated to exploring and presenting a myriad of conceptual and material approaches to address and rectify the wide range of injustice experienced by marginalized people. Nuruddin earned her BFA from The University of South Florida and her MFA from Florida Atlantic University. She serves as Curator and Exhibitions Manager for the Spady Cultural Heritage Museum.
