ERFA are proud to host guest instructor Chris Connah of Noble Science of Defence in Brighton. In this practical workshop Chris will cover some of the principles that characterise George Silver's Elizabethan fencing style including; the governors, the sword of convenient length, the place and how to fight for it, and more.The workshop is open to any member of a reputable historical fencing club (age 18+). Participants need their own protective gear (fencing mask, jacket, gloves) and a blunt steel or synthetic training weapon. The system is intended for 16th century cut-and-thrust swords (early basket hilts, sideswords). The instructor will have some wasters to lend.
