Flora: 2 Week Workshop Structure
Week 1: Your first meeting will be spent building a grisaille with black and white oil paint. Shape, composition, and accurate values are the focus of this session. Using a grisaille allows you to work out the 'drawing' aspects of your work, simplifying the work to be done on the color layer.
Week 2: Now it's time to tackle color! You'll learn the pros and cons of glazing and how to combine the technique with alla prima concepts. You'll understand how to maintain strong color or soften hues as needed with color theory. Tackle one of the most difficult colors to mix in light and shadow: Red!
