Cyrillic with Ilya Ruderman workshop at Bovisa Campus will take three days (8 hours each), from 10–12 June 2024, and mix analogue (hand drawing on paper) and digital tools (Glyphs, FontLab, Robofab). Through historical and contemporary examples of calligraphy and Cyrillic types, Ruderman will illustrate the peculiarities of the Cyrillic alphabet and the typographical needs of the different languages that use it. Then, attendees will work on extending a set of Cyrillic glyphs from an existing Latin character.
