In this workshop, you will be creating a mixed media piece on paper
Attendees will be looking at a variety of landscapes images that the instructor will provide. The next step will be choosing one image that resonates with them to focus on for a few minutes. While focusing on that selected image, the instructor will point out things to observe in the image like the composition, the negative space, color, shapes, etc. We will then put the image away and create the landscape from memory! This exercise will encourage you to become more confident painting abstractly and letting creativity flow, becoming mystical in the process.
No experience needed, just an openess to experiment and play.
Materials Provided: High quality paper (16" x 20"), flow paint, alcohol ink, acrylic, and oil pastels will be used to achieve other wordly effects. All Materials will be provided.
Instructor Biography:
Jocelyn Chemel was born in South Africa and lived in Boston for over 30 years and has recently moved to Delray Beach. Jocelyn studied design, printmaking and mixed media at the Museum School in Boston. She also taught decorative painting techniques for many years as well as mixed media to children.
