Artist and educator Andrew McCulloch will guide participants through a life drawing session. Over two-hours, you will learn the basics of anatomical design and figure invention in life drawing. This session will follow the Watts-style approach to figure drawing, which is typically done with soft charcoal on a buttery smooth newsprint.
This session will be working with a costumed model, no prior experience is needed, all materials provided, and is suitable for all experience levels aged 14 and up.
Andrew McCulloch is an artist and educator living in Ōtepoti Dunedin, with a background working in computer generated visual effects for film and TV. Andrew has recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in VFX Design, and has also undertaken fine arts training in oils, charcoal, and ink. He often offers classes in the tradition of early 20th-century illustration.
