In this explorative workshop you will spend a few hours creating a zine of your personal experiences of 2024. These art zines will allow you to explore your creativity and express yourself using images and words. Zines (short for magazine) have often been used as a way of communicating and connecting.
There will be a blue and white theme adding a bit of a challenge and creating a beautiful palette to work with. You will use watercolours, various drawing materials and collage during this workshop.
About your teaching artist Ashini Kulatunge
I am a self taught artist based in Naarm/Melbourne. I began my art journey at the age of 33 during covid lockdowns in 2019 as a way of coping through some tough life hurdles. Although I had studied art in high school, it was a different experience to create as an adult, and it gave me an opportunity to heal. I fell in love and have been painting every day since. I work mostly with watercolour, gouache, pencils, and crayons and have recently started to explore collage and paper art. Art for me is an escape but also a filter to see the world differently and to meet wonderful creative minds.
Come and join for a wonderful session of creative purging.
Suitable for those aged 15 years and older. No previous experience required. Materials provided.
