This course takes place in Eastwood House.
Houses have fascinating histories too! The social side of our ancestors can often be just as interesting as the individuals themselves. Buildings have a history all of their own, which exposes the lives of the people who lived there over time. This half-day course led by experienced genealogist, Lorna Kinnaird, PGDip, FSAScot, QG, ASGRA, will get you started on carrying out a house history in Scotland and will get you accessing some pretty amazing records. The course will cover:
-Identifying key features of dating buildings
-Identifying sources for buildings
-Accessing documents for buildings
-Linking key sources with vital record sources
-No previous experience is needed.
Can be booked separately or alongside the Family History for Beginners Course to create a full day experience.
Please contact [email protected] if you would like to discuss which course would be most suitable before booking.
