About this Event
Have you ever wanted to paint a landscape but get overwhelmed by the idea of capturing it (the shapes, depth, colors, details, and vantage point) accurately? In this workshop we will break down a landscape into five areas using just five colors. Using this method you will have fun creating a landscape without getting bogged down by the need to include every detail, but instead to view the abstracted landscape in a different way! Looking at the landscape this way will teach your eye to see the macro shapes. With a bit of technology, attendees will have the PANTONE APP available to help you see and breakdown the colors in the landscape photo you choose to work from.
An abstracted landscape is a concept of a landscape rather than explicit image of a landscape. We will create a mood rather than an exact depiction. You will come away with 1 - 2 larger landscape paintings.
Abstracted Landscapes Workshop is for all levels!
Attendees must bring:
1. A photo of a landscape that they like (and instructor will provide a collection of plenty of landscape images to choose from)
2. An iPhone* or iPad with the Pantone App on it. *If you don’t have an iPhone or iPad, the instructor will use their phone for access to the app for you.
