Welcome to explore and draw!Time: Sunday 26/10, 14:00-15:30
Location: The Ruderal Garden, the parking lot of Färgfabriken
Welcome to a workshop exploring plants and other critters of the ruderal landscape. Together we will look closely at ruderal plants and their leaves. As fall unravels, the leaves are dramatically changing. We will examine their colour, shape, tiny hairs, fungi growing on them and insect eggs laid on them. Equipped with magnifying glasses and sketching materials, we will explore the plants growing in post-industrial Lövholmen.
What is the role of ruderal species in the urban ecosystem? Come to our ruderal garden and learn how these unruly and tenacious plants emerging from the rubble reshape disturbed landscapes through their adaptable and creative nature.
- Free of charge!
- The workshop will be held in English.
- Materials will be provided.
- Ages 14 and up. No prior knowledge or experience necessary!
This workshop is a part of the broader artistic research project about ruderal landscapes, run by Garden Loops – an art and architecture collective consisting of Alexandra Papademetriou, Mercè Torres, Natalie Blom and Poppy Bell – in collaboration with Yannick Woudstra and Färgfabriken.
