About this Event
Join us for an artistic exploration of urban space through mark-making in response to how we see, hear, and feel in the city.
Following the dérive exercise, we will return to the map with the materials we have generated, laying them out around the map. Our objective will be to discuss some of the issues and positive insights we uncovered through the dérive, and how—based on these perspectives—this helps us consider how we might use these materials to future-proof Dublin city at a human scale.
Using sticky notes and the map, we will begin to map out some of the points from the conversation, giving room for critical discussion. In relation to Beta Fest, we will propose questions such as the hidden elements of design and technology in a city, as well as holding space for critical reflection on whether the city is habitable from a multispecies perspective.
Please bring a sketchbook or paper and writing materials. Please bring a rain jacket and enclosed shoes.
Facilitated by Rudi-Lee McCarthy.
