Creating Stories People Care About with Tara McEntee

What is it that makes narrative improv so impressive? I think it’s the ability to build a world in real time that the audience become invested in; it’s the true art of storytelling that transports and transforms, and leaves people wanting more from the world you’ve created.

This workshop focuses on getting to the core of that theme; what stories do people care about, and why? Through exercises and side coaching, you will learn how to work the improv muscles that lead to creating characters and plotlines audiences care about.

Workshop length: 3 hours
Recommended experience level: Intermediate (1 - 3 years experience)
Participants need to know: Side coaching and personalised feedback will be provided.

Meet Tara McEntee (she/her)
Te Whanganui-a-Tara/Wellington, Aotearoa/New Zealand

Tara is a seasoned improvisor from Aotearoa, with over 15 years’ experience under her belt performing both short and long-form improv. She has performed with many troupes across Aotearoa including the Court Jesters, Improsaurus, Playshop, and is currently a proud Board Member of PopRox Improv. She is chaotic evil.
