About this Event
This FREE event is being hosted by Glasgow Community Energy and Loco Home Retrofit, will bring people together to explore opportunities for community-led, energy focused climate action solutions in Castlemilk.
We will share knowledge on work going on in Glasgow and beyond on projects such as:
- Installing renewables in community buildings
- Managing larger community-owned energy projects
- Making homes more energy efficient and low-carbon
- Tackling fuel poverty and energy advice projects.
We will address what we mean by community energy, discuss the benefits of community energy, and issues around climate change. This is also an opportunity for us to hear about the work you are doing, or would like to do, in this area. We'll hear about relevant examples of collective action - including existing projects in community solar and domestic retrofit projects in Glasgow, as well as the local community's previous role in the Cathkin Braes wind turbine. And we'll explore ways we all might work together in future to develop such projects in Castlemilk.
Tea and coffee will be provided and you are invited to stay for sandwiches and a chat at the end of the workshop.
We are also able to cover reasonable travel expenses within Glasgow for attending the event - please email [email protected] to arrange this.
Please note that there are limited places and if you are interested you need to register on this page.
