ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:
Bring your artwork to a new level with relief block printing. Learn the essentials in this one-day workshop taught by linocut artist Diana Tonnessen, including how to 1. plan and develop a high contrast, detailed design in reverse, 2. Transfer your design to a carving block, 3. Carve without cutting yourself, 4. Create lines, textures and patterns with handheld carving tools, 5. incorporate color, and 6. Pull a print with or without a press.
ABOUT DIANA:
Diana Tonnessen - Diana Tonnessen is an artist and printmaker whose handmade limited-edition linoleum block prints take a nostalgic dive into wacky world of alligators, mermaids, swamp creatures, fruit stands and funky motels. Through whimsical compositions, liminous colors, and the rustic texture of the linocut, she aspires to capture the charm and allure of Old Florida as one of America's favorite vacation destinations
