About this Event
Come join us and discover a fun, easy technique of watercolour painting and pencils to portray animals. Whether you're an experienced artist or have tried painting or sketching at home or in a previous workshop, I'll have some fresh tips and tricks for you to discover. Each session has specially-designed printed worksheets and guides to take home.
If you joined the first version of this 'birds' workshop: practice your skills with the new reference material!
This workshop will have a special focus on illustrating birds.
- How do we make the birds look 'real', lively and have a convincing and attractive texture? How to make them look like a particular species.
We'll work on how to~
- Become familiar with your materials
- Illustrate animals that come to life
- Learn illustration shortcuts and tricks
- Overcome perfectionism and make drawing a fun experience
We'll be working from some lovely photo reference, and you'll pick up the fundamentals which can be applied to any sketch subject, not just animals. We'll be using high quality coloured pencils and watercolour paints. All materials (and refreshments!) provided.
Laura Carter is a professional English illustrator, with several years experience of giving art workshops.
