A Formatter's Guide with Malcolm Morrison
Have you ever wanted to create a show of your own? Maybe you’re curious how it is done? Come along to learn A Formatter’s Guide: a simple, yet versatile process to follow to make creating a show easy!
In this workshop participants will be taught what makes a format work, covering areas from design principles to human psychology, to answer the simple question of “What makes a format fun to perform and watch?”.
Then we apply this knowledge in hands-on activities designed to turn the colossal task of formatting into a fun puzzle – like a sudoku – ending in a complete, ready-to-perform, format.
Participants will leave this workshop, not only with the skills and courage to make a format of their own, but actually having already created one!
Workshop length: 3 hours
Recommended experience level: Intermediate (1 - 3 years experience)
Participants need to know: Bring note taking tools and a curious mind.
