About this Event

When? 11:00 am - 02:00 pm

Where? homePORT (St. Pauli Elbtunnel, Hermann-Blohm-Str.), Steinwerder Süd, 20457 Hamburg

During the workshop, experts in the field of additive manufacturing will give an overview on how to use computer aided design (CAD) tools to design a product in 3D. In the second part of the workshop you will learn about printing materials and properties and export your designed 3D model for 3D printing.

There will be plenty of time for getting to know each other, learn from experts and ask detailed questions.

Please note:

  1. This workshop will be held in english or german only! See the Picture above for the languages on specific dates.
  2. Please bring your own laptop to the event.

Fab City:

The workshop is implemented by researchers of the Helmut Schmidt University within the framework of the research project Fab City, which is funded by dtec.bw – Digitalization and Technology Research Center of the Bundeswehr. The Hamburg Port Authority and the Helmut Schmidt University are working together to build the OpenLab port on the homePORT campus. In this living lab we jointly explore the potentials of decentralized, open and digital production for the port industry (e.g. for ad hoc spare parts production using additive production means). homePORT:

"Connect, Collaborate & Create" (https://www.homeport.hamburg/) - The homePORT creates a platform for innovative, ambitious port stakeholders and startups from the fields of science and technology. In addition to additive manufacturing, we also want to address other areas of future port operations, including drones, IoT, and artificial intelligence, build a strong digital community, and shape the port of the future together.

Please understand that the number of participants for this session is limited.

Regarding Corona:

To ensure safety of all session participants, please note that the workshop will be held at the homePORT site under the 2G-Plus regulation. This means that all participants must be vaccinated or recovered. (proof required) In addition, each participant must complete a rapid test.
