/////////////////////////////////Join us every other Thursday from 19:30-21:30 (doors open from 18:00) for a writing group focused on critique of stories (and other types of writing) of up to 10 pages.
The schedule will look like this:
10 minutes of discussion/socializing/housekeeping
20 minutes of creative writing from a prompt
15 minutes of group sharing
5/10 minute break
30 minute workshop of 1st piece
30 minute workshop of 2nd piece
Workshops will be run in a classic roundabout style. First, everyone will tell the author something they found effective about the piece. Then, everyone will go around again and talk about something they found confusing/ineffective or ask clarifying questions. Then, the circle will be opened for free discussion.
Any member of the group can request a workshop slot by emailing [email protected], and the calendar will be discussed/updated during the first ten minutes of each meeting. Stories must be submitted by the Sunday before group, and will be sent out by Monday for reading. To join the email group/reading list, please email [email protected].
////////////There will be a 100ck participation fee to pay for the space. If this is a financial barrier for you, please email [email protected] or talk to the organizers.
