About this Event
Background:
On Monday 29th September 2025, the Head of the Lancashire Traumatic Stress Service, Hein Ten-Cate, will be delivering Workplace Trauma Support training, at Lancashire County Council, County Hall, Preston
This in-person session will provide individuals with the skills and confidence to provide support to those affected by workplace traumatic incidents and critical or major incidents.
Focus of training:
o What happens to people after an incident and why?
o The fact that the nature of a stressful situation is abnormal - not the human response.
o Ways to spot red flags for the onset of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).
o The support systems and mechanisms that can be put in place.
Ways to signpost to further support.
Workplace Trauma Support Locality Champions
Those who attend the WTS training will become the Trust’s:
‘Workplace Trauma Support Locality Champions’
The intention is that there will be 4-5 WTS locality champions in each locality of Lancashire and South Cumbria.
- This would be a voluntary role; but, in the event of a critical or major incident, you would be released from your usual role to provide post-incident support.
- This role would also form be a key part of one of the Trust’s major incident plans: the Psychological Resilience Support Plan.
**This training opportunity is available for LSCft staff who feel they could offer additional post-incident support. Please check with your line manager before registering.
