Workplace Domestic Abuse Champions Training - Stage 1

PCC Kim McGuinness believes the role of the Workplace Domestic Abuse Champion is of high importance and is committed to maintaining and building on this vibrant network.

The Network is intended to be a dynamic and innovative way in which we can champion the role of the Workplace Domestic Abuse Champion, whilst giving you the opportunity to communicate with others in each of our 6 local authority areas.

The workplace can be one of the few areas where victims of domestic abuse feel safe to speak out about what they are going through. That’s why it’s so important to have Trained Domestic Abuse Champions in your workplace, who can provide help and support to colleagues whenever it’s needed.

The training is delivered by the Northumbria Violence Reduction Unit, who ensure there is always a safe environment for you to learn, ask questions and feel confident about becoming a Domestic Abuse Champion in your workplace.

• During the training you will be given information to raise your awareness on issues around domestic abuse, an introduction to the Network and information about the role of the Champion.

• Training takes around 3 hours to complete and is delivered on a face-to-face basis in our purpose built training room at Victory House, Balliol Business Park, Benton Lane, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE12 8EW.
