Workshop theme: The Colour of Shadows and Capturing Light
Students will work from images of their own, using different watercolour techniques and palettes to discover expressive possibilities. Tanya will guide students towards experimentation and imaginative use of colour.
Students will use wet-in-wet techniques and the unique qualities of transparent overlaid washes in watercolour, and understand the effect of different papers and pigments. Inspiration will come from such artists as the Hermansburg School of Artists, as well as John Pendergast, Paul Klee and August Macke.
