Presented by well-known Canberra-based photographer Peter Hislop, who currently documents about 150 concerts and music events each year. This two-hour workshop/illustrated conversation is designed for people who employ or work with concert photographers – concert organisers, venue managers, marketing managers and musicians. Whether for social media, reviews, or grant acquittals, understanding the photographic process is key to obtaining high-quality images.
Participants are not expected to take photographs - this workshop provides essential knowledge about working with photographers, the impact of venue lighting and layout on photo results, and how to make the most of photographic documentation for both immediate and long-term purposes.
Workshop Goals:
• Provide concert organisers, venue managers, marketing managers and musicians with the knowledge needed to work effectively with concert photographers.
• Explain the importance of identifying your stakeholders and their photographic requirements.
• Discuss the critical elements that influence concert photography outcomes, including venue layout, lighting, and performance dynamics.
• Explain the workflow of culling, colour-balancing and cataloguing between the concert and uploading photos.
• Understanding copyright considerations and appropriate storage/cataloguing of photo collections.
To assist the Canberra music community, Wesley Music Centre is hosting this event at no charge.
To accommodate conversations, numbers for this session are limited to 20. Please reserve your place at Trybooking: https://www.trybooking.com/DIHUD
