About this Event
Over the past year, Richmondside has reported in-depth on air pollution in Richmond, examining its impact on local health and highlighting the people and organizations working to improve our environment.
Now, we’re bringing that reporting off the page for a live conversation and audience Q&A with residents, health experts, community advocates, and civic leaders featured in the series.
Reporter Brian Krans will speak with family medicine physician Dr Emily Hunter-Adamson, Urban Tilth organizer Rafael Castro-Chavez, and Destiny Ndeke, Community & Outreach Coordinator at Groundwork Richmond, about how environmental pollution has affected them personally and the work they’re doing to create change in their communities.
Then, Cityside Community Journalism Director Jacob Simas will moderate a discussion with Richmond District 1 Councilmember Jamelia Brown, Contra Costa County District 1 Supervisor John Gioia and BK White, Policy Director for the Richmond Mayor, on what's currently being done and what roadblocks stand in the way of doing more to move the needle on improving Richmond’s environment.
Doors and refreshments starting at 5:30pm, program will begin promptly at 6pm
