AARC is thrilled to be hosting another two day clinic with the legendary Sue Buckley on the weekend of October 26 & 27.
Sue’s weekend clinics are the highlight of the year for our club and fill super fast, so please read the following information carefully.
Registrations will open on Friday 30th of August at 5pm and all members will receive an email with the clinic registration details on that day.
Working Equitation is an increasingly popular sport, commonly referred to as ‘the fun way to train seriously’.
For those new to the club, Sue Buckley comes highly qualified, as an NCAS Coach, Working Equitation Trainer/Judge, and RDA Coach. She has over 45 years professional experience and is highly sought after by riders from all disciplines.
This is why Sue is so well loved by everyone who works with her - from beginners and nervous riders, right through to the accomplished competitors and professional riding instructors.
Sue has a natural gift for setting up both the horse and rider for success. She carefully teaches how to negotiate each obstacle and facilitates relaxation and harmony between each horse and rider as they complete the full obstacle course at their own pace.
In the mornings, Sue will cover the essential flatwork and lateral work necessary for completing the working equitation course with ease. This is referred to as the ‘working dressage’ phase of the sport.
In the afternoons, you’ll ride through the whole obstacle course individually, and receive Sue’s quality guidance and feedback. Riding the obstacle course is known as the ‘ease of handling’ phase.
All lessons are taught in groups of four, and Sue will carefully place you in a group with compatible riders.
The October clinic will be conducted in the indoor arena, with the option to ride outside in the sea container paddock and X Country course in afternoon (if weather permits).
This weekend offers the perfect introduction for those brand new to Working Equitation. It will also provide Sue’s ongoing students a valuable opportunity to further build on their existing skills.
As always, clinic spots are offered exclusively to AARC club members.
If you’re not a current member, never fear. You can take advantage of our half yearly discount for only $70.
You will need to be financial member of AARC before registering for this clinic. Membership forms are available on our website.
OCTOBER CLINIC FEES
Sue’s two day clinic is $360 for the whole weekend.
The cost of attending one day of the clinic is $195.
The full weekend option is open to Sue’s brand new students, as well as her returning students.
Priority will go to those registering for the full two days and one day places are limited. As the clinic is progressive, any new students can attend the Saturday, and returning students can attend the Sunday.
All one day students are welcome to attend the other day as a fence sitter, free of charge.
The clinic runs from 9am to 5pm on both days and participants are asked to bring a plate of food to share for lunch each day.
When registrations open, please contact us to hold your place for 24 hours while you return your registration forms and make a $100 deposit into the AARC account. That will secure your booking.
The remaining balance is due by Friday October 11th. Or you can opt to pay the full amount at the time of booking.
Please remember that Sue’s clinics sell out faster than a Taylor Swift concert (they’re way more fun, too!). So save the registration date and your deposit so you can book early.
Once the clinic is full, we will open a wait list for any cancellations.
Everyone is welcome to fence sit free of charge, and to help out on the course. So feel free to invite all your friends.
As usual, Sue is also offering a limited number of private lessons on the Friday afternoon and Monday morning. Again, priority goes to our club members, so please book early.
Camping is available for horses and riders at the grounds for a minimal fee. Bookings are to be made via the AEC website.

Sue’s clinics are always a heap of fun so this really is an event not to be missed. We look forward to seeing you there.
