All are welcome to join Friends of Merri Park to explore and help care for the wetland. At this event, we'll be joined by the Merri Creek Management Committee who'll be giving guidance on W**d identification! Meet at the western entrance to the Merri Park Wetland from 10 am. There is no expectation for how long you join us at this event - feel free to pop in for half an hour, if that's all you have.
No knowledge or experience required. Volunteers will be given a brief induction and guidance on weeding and/or litter pick-up activities and you can work according to your ability and capacity.
Children are welcome, but must be under the supervision of their parent/guardian at all times.
Tools and gloves will be provided, but please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes, long pants and dress appropriately for the weather. Long sleeves and loose clothing will also protect from mosquito bites.
We'll also bring tea, coffee and biscuits for morning tea!
