About this Event
This one day workshop will help you to navigate the pitfalls and challenges of working in the counselling industry. This course aims to bridge the gap between what is taught in counselling courses and what knowledge is needed to work professionally in the world of counselling and psychotherapy. Caroline is an experienced clinical supervisor who has worked with many training or newly qualified counsellors and this course reflects her experience of what newly qualified counsellors and psychotherapists need to know.
Topics included in this workshop are:
- How to find paid work
- What makes a really effective therapist? Aside from the modality you trained in.
- How to deal with professional and ethical issues in the real world
- Do I need membership/accreditation? A consideration of different options
- Clients love psychoeducation - what are the most client-loved pieces of theory that they can 'take home' with them?
- What CPD should I do?
- How can I find a niche?
- Networking with other therapists.
Please note that whilst this workshop may cover the basics of working in private practice, there is another one day course that focuses solely on this subject
