CCU's Department of English presents a series: "Words To Say It"A CREATIVE NONFICTION READING BY ERIN SLAUGHTER
Erin Slaughter, assistant professor in CCU’s Department of English, reads from her newly-released memoir The Dead Dad Diaries. The work tells the story of her father’s murder when she was a teenager and its ongoing effects on herself and her family. The Dead Dad Diaries blends research, lyricism, narrative, and experimental forms to express the varied manifestations of grief and interrogates the impact of domestic violence, poverty, and hereditary addiction on a family lineage.
