In the early 2000's, Rubin studied theater under the acclaimed director John Didonna at the Black Box Theater in Orlando.
His experimental theater credits include a directing/acting role in Sam Shepard's "off-off Broadway" play "Chicago", and a lead in Eat Cake Productions' "Coyote".
Joining the spoken word movement, he represented Orlando in the 2002 National Poetry Slam .
Rubin relocated to St. Petersburg in 2010 and started Goon Squad Music production company to record and distribute his work.
An album of his spoken word titled "Do Not Stop" is available on all streaming platforms and can be purchased from the website http://www.goonsquadmusic.com, which houses his spoken word and journalistic works.
