We are delighted to announce the launch of Walkers & Talkers in partnership with Worcestershire Cricket Foundation!
Our first session commences Monday 18th November, where we’ll meet for a walk and a talk around the beautiful grounds of Worcestershire County Cricket Club.
This is a chance for you to connect with like-minded people, share your stories, and feel supported, all with complimentary teas, coffees and biscuits.
After our walk, it’s time to settle into your seats for a Q&A session with our inspirational guest speaker.
Who better to lead the charge for our first session than the esteemed President of Worcestershire CCC, Phil Neale.
Former Imp Phil Neale, is a renowned figure in both cricket and football, having served as a cricketer for Worcestershire in 1975-1992 and footballer for Lincoln City, 1974-1985.
His talents in both sports came to the fore in the summer of 1976 when, after helping City to the Fourth Division Championship, he then scored more than 900 runs in his first full season of first-class cricket. Phil’s famously known for successfully juggling his careers in both sports, thanks in part to the guidance of legendary managers Colin Murphy and Graham Taylor.
Phil’s football career started with Scunthorpe Boys and Lincoln United before he signed professionally with the Imps. He was part of the record-breaking squad of 1975/76 and experienced promotion with the Club in both 1976 and 1981. After retiring from football, Phil became a respected captain of Worcestershire, leading his county to success in various competitions.
Phil’s coaching talents were soon recognized at national level, leading to his appointment as Operations Manager for England Cricket. He was then involved with the national side and played an instrumental part in the Ashes success of 2005, which earned him an OBE for services to cricket.
Join us as the inaugural speaker for Worcestershire’s Walkers & Talkers shares his experiences and insights from his illustrious sporting career.
Phil’s talk is bound to be a hit with both cricket enthusiasts and newcomers alike 🏏
