Worcester Festival 5K/2K Family Fun Run this Sunday 17th August at Diglis Fields.
Organised by Worcester Festival in partnership with Black Pear Joggers. There are still places left. Booking is through www.entrycentral.com or www.worcesterfestival.co.uk

The 5k race takes place around the river Severn starting and ending at the south end of Diglis Playing field.
The cost is £7 (or £5 for UKA affiliated runners) which includes a participants medal. There are prizes for the top 3 male/female finishers, plus age category prizes.

The 2K family fun run/walk starts and finishes on Diglis Playing field and takes place around Cherry Orchard Local Nature Reserve. All registered participants will receive a medal. The 2K Family Fun Run will again be FREE to enter but there will be an opportunity to make a donation to Worcester Festival which is a registered charity to enable us to keep going.

There will be prizes for fancy dress.

There will be portable toilets on site.

There will be an ice cream van and hot and cold drinks available to purchase.

There will also be free face painting, access to the Diglis Playing field play area and an appearance by Percy Peacock the Worcester Festival mascot.

The 2K will be limited to 200 participants and the 5K to 150 participants.

There will be marshals throughout both routes to ensure participants keep to the route and cheer on participants.

The event is held under UK Athletics rules (Event Licence Number 29818). Results will show on Power of 10 and runbritain Rankings.

· 9:00am: Registration and number collection open.
· 9:50am: Registration closes.
· 9:55am: 5K race briefing.
· 10:00am: 5K race starts.
· 10:40am: 2K race briefing.
· 10:45am: 2K family fun run/walk starts.
· 11:15am: Prize giving.
Routes
2K Family Fun Run
The 2K route starts on Diglis Playing Fields with most of the route around the trail paths in Cherry Orchard Local Nature Reserve, finishing back at Diglis Playing Fields. The route is mostly grass/trail. The route is not suitable for wheelchairs. Children are welcome but must be accompanied.
Route
5K Race
The 5K route starts on Diglis Playing Fields and is a loop around the river. Runners will run up Navigation Road, around Diglis Oil Basin, over Diglis Bottom Lock and follow the river footpath along Diglis Parade, Kleve Walk and South Quay. Runners will then take the footpath over Worcester Bridge and return back along the river via Bromwich Parade, Malvern Pedway. Finally runners will cross Diglis Bridge and finish back at Diglis Playing Fields. The route is tarmac and paved surfaces with a small amount of grass at the start/finish. The route is suitable for wheelchairs. Minimum age of 11.
