ABOUT THE WORCESTER ORGAN
- The tallest pipe stands 16 feet tall, made from Eastern Pine
- The largest pipe produces a 32 Hertz pitch—deep enough to feel
- Built in 1864, the custom Hook organ originally cost $8,000 (over $5 million in today’s value)
- Organs were the most complex large machines before the Industrial Revolution—an engineering marvel of their time
- At its debut, this was the largest organ ever built by the Hook firm
Experience the legacy, artistry, and power of the Worcester Organ as local artists bring it to life in this inspiring community showcase.
