Charlie Wooton leads fun night of guests and musical challenges.Charlie Wooton is an American bassist, composer, and educator, best known for his work in the jazz, blues, and funk genres. He was born on June 11, 1970, in Lafayette, Louisiana, USA, and grew up in a musical family.
Wooton began playing bass at the age of 13 and soon after joined his first band. In 2000, Wooton moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, from Atlanta Georgia, where he became an integral part of the city's music scene. He played with the legendary drummer Johnny Vidacovich and toured with the Royal Southern Brotherhood. Wooton is currently the leader of the band ZYDEFUNK.
In addition to his work as a performer, Wooton is also a respected music educator. He has taught at numerous music camps and clinics and has published instructional materials for bass players.
Throughout his career, Wooton has collaborated with many notable musicians, including Sonny Landreth, Cyril Neville, and Anders Osborne. He has also released several solo albums, including "Blue Basso" and "Charlie Wooton Project."
