Join us with Paul Whitfield, Director General of the Wildwood Trust, for a fireside chat plus Q&A to discuss the challenges of and aspirations for reintroducing predators.Wildwood Trust is the leading UK native species conservation charity dedicated to the protection conservation and rewilding of British wildlife and operates two visitor centres in Kent and Devon, housing over 200 native and once native species, receiving 250,000 visitors a year. The Trust hosts 15,000 school visits a year and runs a well-respected range of conservation and rewilding courses for adults.
Paul became chair of the Wildwood trust in 2008 and has been leading the Trust as Director General for the last 6 years. During that time, he has developed important partnerships with other NGOs to deliver several ground-breaking conservation and rewilding programmes, including the introduction of European Bison to Kent and the reintroduction of the Red Billed Chough to Dover. He is also actively working with others to reintroduce a population of Wildcats in Wales. For 20 years Wildwood has been involved in the captive breeding and reintroduction of Beavers,
Hazel Dormice, Red Squirrels, White Storks and Pine Martens across the U.K.
Paul is a known and respected voice in the UK rewilding movement, regularly speaking to the press and academic and community groups and is also a qualified solicitor.
