About this Event
Our human journey is paved with peaks and valleys, twists and turns. We experience great moments of pleasure, joy and triumph, as well as ones of pain, sadness, loss and grief. We seem to live in continuous cycles of endings and beginnings, of death and rebirth. Whether we accept and embrace or reject and deny it, life is in constant flux. We can either choose to go with its inevitable flow, or remain trapped in various states of suffering, brought on by our attachments, avoidances, and refusal to evolve. The truth is – there is no other way, and any attempt to cruise through life without bumps along the winding road is a delusional aspiration. To be human means to take part in all of it, to ride the waves, roll with the punches, but mostly, to trust it and allow all of life’s many flavors to shape us into the people we wish to become.
What if instead of a problem to be solved we accepted life’s transitions and movements as a game to be played, where there are no winners or losers, only conscious and unconscious participants? The breath will lead this transformation in perspective, as we open up to clues, insights, epiphanies and breakthroughs.
Inspired by the work of legendary psychiatrist and psychedelic researcher, Dr. Stanislav Grof’s Holotropic Breathwork Technique, the breathing patterns explored in this session are designed to move us closer to the threshold of the great mystery and out of the illusion of separation.
The session will include:
- An informative talk on what you should expect, the practice, the science, the benefits, and shared tips and techniques on how to maintain presence and make the most of the experience
- A guided contemplation
- 3 breathing patterns
- An evocative playlist
- Release into live sound/music
- Journaling
- Aromatherapy
- Sharing circle
